Montería is the most ancient and traditional type of hunting in Spain.
By this form of hunting, several hundreds of hectares are surrounded by hunters arranged throughout several lines. Each hunter will take a stand that has previously been drawn.
After that, several tens of hounds are introduced in the hunting area in order to get the animals (red deers and wild boars) out of the shrubs and lead them to the hunters.
In this thrilling type of hunting, the hunter should give full attention to find the animals and avoid that they run away through the vegetation. In many cases, the hunter only hears the exciting barking of the hounds and cannot see the animals until they are just a few meters from him.
In the montería, hunters, surrounded by amazing natural landscapes, will enjoy while watching hounds hunting and will have at their disposal different services as secretaries, beaters, horses to carry the shot animals, etc.
For the aforementioned, we can saythat montería is the most exciting type of hunting, allowing the hunter to feel face to face a fight with the animals in their wild habitat.
